Volume 23, November 2007

Welcome to November. Today, I find myself humbled by real astrology, i.e., watching the real wheels turn. Not the you’ll-meet-a-tall-dark-handsome-stranger-next-Friday type. And it was by two women who were just at my office.

One, in her mid-fifties, had just rescued the other, her 82-year-old aunt, from a “nursing home” in Florida. The elder, in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, had thankfully just failed at a suicide attempt. Her “care” was that bad, and that was just after she had been confined in a mental institution. I can tell you, she isn’t crazy, rather has quite an impressive grip on her Virgo faculties once she was medicated correctly. So where does the astrology come in? Just when the transiting bombshell that I wrote about last month, the Jupiter/Uranus square of early October, hit, everything changed. Lined up right on the older lady’s Sun, it surely liberated her. Back from the very brink, more like it.

At the same time, transiting Neptune (saintly acts) opposed the younger woman’s Sun in Leo. She became obsessed with saving her aunt. Her aunt had been so good to her all of her life and the nobility of Leo and the selflessness of her Neptune transit were about to return the favor. The woman quit her job and took off south to recover her aunt, a spunky lady indeed! Now, she occupies a spare bedroom in the Leo woman’s house and at 82 is quite obsessed with finding her own place – she doesn’t want to be a burden. Before she was committed, she was found wandering somewhere in Alabama – she has no idea how she got there or why. Thus, no more drivers license. For the moment, she is safe and sound in her niece’s home.

It’s stories like this that keeps me encouraged… to find the truth in astrology… to see how it works in daily lives. To see how one woman used her Neptune to its highest meaning. To see how the other was simply a recipient of Jovian good karma from of a life full of service to others. My astrological hats are off to both of them.

Scorpios of Interest and Astrological Musings…

Who else could play the same guitar note for 3 minutes and sound great?

"Look Out For My Love" – Neil Young, from “Comes a Time”

There's a heart that burns

Look out for my love,

There's a weight on you

But you can't feel it

Livin' like I do

It's hard for you to see it

Look out for my love

It's in your neighborhood

Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19) - TURBULENCE IN THE LOWER FUSELAGE. This is one irritating time for the sign ruled by Mars, but Aries should deal with this fine. Why? Because the Ram is not one by nature to hold back their feelings. Assert your emotional needs, but be cool about it. It’s time to set things straight in your family, but remember, sometimes let life come to you.

Taurus (Apr 20-May 20) – FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE. This Season, it’s time for you to say what you want. Learn to express yourself and don’t expect mind-readers. Not every family has their own psychic, right? Seriously, The Bull needs to now let it be known what they need in terms of emotional support. Be careful not to get pushy here, this isn’t Pamplona.

Gemini (May 21-Jun 21) – MENTAL DROOL. Don’t let others accuse you of being non-feeling now. It happens enough as is. Must be frustrating having such a mercurial, restless mind. As soon as that puddle of mercury is herded into one pool, there it goes again – all over the place. Watch out for irrational emotional outbursts. Fight for your self-worth. Take your time for once. If you take yourself seriously now, so will everybody else.

Cancer (Jun 22-Jul 22) - THE CRAB WHO CRIED WOLF! The waters could get a little rocky here. Take time now to express yourself without being too careful. This is not a time to be timid. Things have been building up for a long time, so now is time to clearly set the nest straight. Crying wolf in the past may come back to pinch you. It’s not always time for a family meeting – set the record straight yourself.

Leo (Jul 23-Aug 22) - CAN’T QUITE PUT YOUR FINGER ON IT. The subconscious stirs now. Dreams intensify and gain significance. Watch yourself for unusual reactions to songs or movies that you hear or see. They may be trying to deliver a message to your conscious mind of something that has been troubling you for a while. Do pay attention to the man behind the curtain. After all, Jung was a Leo.

Virgo (Aug 23-Sep 22) - DON’T LOOK AT ME! Like Gemini and Aquarius, be alert for being labeled as unemotional. If you want something done right…. well, this time don’t go it alone. It’s clearly time for the Virgin to become more of a team player. I know you can’t tolerate others doing shoddy work, but sometimes yielding to the Greater Mind of the group can actually be more productive - your favorite word.

Libra (Sep 23-Oct 22) – MR. MOM. Keeping the balance between career development and home happiness is the ticket here. Librans are very ambitious people for the most part. Now as they fine tune their career direction it has become imperative that they keep the birdies happily chirping back in the nest too. No other sign can do the balancing act as well as they. They will be forced to make black and white decisions between these two major areas of life – not a skill that comes easily to them.

Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21) – SEXUAL INFOMERCIAL. Unlike their normal propensity to keep their cards close to their vest, Scorpio now starts to express themselves. It is important now that they come forth with their intense thoughts about the philosophy of what makes a true, close relationship work. Dedication to another is not always solved sexually or even emotionally. Sometimes the sharing of overall philosophies is critical – now is that time.

Sagittarius (Nov 22-Dec 21) – SEX IN THE CITY. The “urge to merge” is great now with Sag. Usually able to let things roll off of their backs, now the Archer finds it imperative to really let their partners know of their need for intimacy. Give and take is required here. Sag is underrated emotionally since they often are known for their cavalier attitudes. Yet, the Seer is deep and has strong feelings of right and wrong. They should have the least trouble with Mars in Cancer.

Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19) – RELATIONSHIPS BY THE NUMBERS. Cappys find out now that you just can’t have a successful relationship by saying or doing all the “right” things. No, you don’t want to play paintball against the Goat, but relying of “doing things the right way” is seldom the answer to emotional exchange. Partners are going to require of you now that you color outside of your tried-and-true emotional box. Respect your desires. Show your feelings. Get naked.

Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18) – GET IT TOGETHER! Here Mars hits with a blast! It urges Aquarius to take it upon themselves to shape up, and in all ways. Drop and give me 50! The brilliant innovators that is our eleventh sign now is charged with using all their wide varieties of skills to make themselves whole. Naturally independent, the Water Bearer has no problem launching new self-help solutions in order to find themselves in new, exciting, and healthier frames of mind, body, and spirit.

Pisces (Feb 19-Mar 20) – PLAYTIME. Always last, but never least, Pisces gets a reprieve. It is now a time for the Fishes to have some fun – go on vacation, take an art class, learn to sing, join a dance class. Too many times Pisces gets spread too thin. Now is the time to focus yourself into a big creative outburst! Break out your pastel chalks and color your driveway. Draw outlines of bodies on your sidewalk; your neighbors will think O.J. has been there.
