We celebrate Capricorn this month. What makes them tick?

2007 is very much a year where we need to get to work and sober up (Saturn opposite Neptune and into Virgo) in preparation for everything hitting the fan in 2008.

The continuing Jupiter square to Uranus through October will make us impatient and once again spur us to an over-reliance on technological panaceas.

-The constellation of Capricornus (Latin for "horned goat") is possibly the oldest to have been identified, despite its dimness. Since it falls in an area of the sky known as “The Sea,” it became considered a sea-goat - thus the image with the fish tail.

-Another fish-tale is that its appendage is due to Capricorn's antiquated classification as a water sign, while modern astrology classifies it as an earth sign.

-The early Greeks believed that sin accumulated throughout the year, causing darkness to steadily increase, that is, until the beginning of Capricorn, when the days start to grow longer.

-In mythology, the goat's broken horn gives rise to the cornucopia or horn of plenty.

-Before the discovery of Uranus, Saturn (the ruler of Capricorn) was regarded as the ruling planet of Aquarius. Today it is listed as co-ruler of Aquarius.

-In Indian astrology, Saturn is called Shani or "Sani", and represents career and longevity. It is also the bringer of bad luck and hardship. --- Courtesy Wikipedia

Void-of-Course Moons are periods every few days anywhere from a few minutes to several hours where you are discouraged from launching projects. It’s kind of like sailing a boat and there just isn’t any wind. For more information on this subject, visit my earlier newsletter: www.starself.com/newsletter2.html
